DECKBOY — PRODUCT COPY
Updated 2026-10-23 — checked against published v0.99.419

ONE LINE
Deckboy is a free, open-source video cue deck for Windows, macOS and Linux: clips, slides and live sources in one running order.

ONE PARAGRAPH
Deckboy puts video clips, stills, slide decks and live sources in one cue list. An operator selects the next cue and takes it to a separate programme output, with fades, loops and hold-last-frame. Send the programme to a screen, over NDI, or to an SRT or RTMP stream, and record it while it runs. A Stream Deck, Bitfocus Companion, OSC, MIDI or timecode can drive the show. Deckboy runs on Windows, macOS and Linux and is free under GPL-3.0-or-later, with no account, subscription or telemetry.

SHORT SOCIAL POST
Clips, slides and live sources. One cue list. Deckboy is a free, open-source video cue deck for Windows, macOS and Linux. Take the next cue to a separate screen, send it over NDI, or stream and record it. https://utopian-academy.github.io/Deckboy/

LIVE EVENTS AND THEATRE
Keep the walk-in loop, presentation slides and video clips in one running order. Select the next cue on the control screen and take it to the audience output. Deckboy is free and open source, with Windows, macOS and Linux downloads.

NDI
Send Deckboy's programme to an NDI receiver, or take an incoming NDI source as a cue. NDI input and output are included in the published builds; using them requires the NDI runtime supplied with NDI Tools.

STREAMING AND RECORDING
Run clips, slides and live sources from a cue list, send the programme to an SRT or RTMP destination, and keep a local recording while it plays. Deckboy supplies the playout application; configure your own receiving destination.

FACTS
In v0.99.419: playlist volume and mutes follow both sides of a crossfade, including ASIO; scopes analyse each new source picture; the warp monitor follows the selected output; whole-number and fractional refresh rates remain distinct; oscillator settings persist while disabled, with one shared clock for Moire and effects; Swirl and Fireside fit tall canvases. Four bundled example shows teach outputs, layers, effects and a one-button sequence. Moving outgoing video applies to files without a grade or picture effects. Recordings and streams take incoming audio at TAKE.
Current features: pattern tracker with keyboard editing, cue/stop/fade/volume/opacity cells, mute/solo, jumps and sections; QR-paired phone controller with editable DASH; Mic cues, a named Art-Net/sACN fixture patch and local live captions; gamma-correct edge blends and saved new-show defaults.
HDR: PQ/HLG input with graphics and HDR delivery over ST 2110, SRT/enhanced RTMP and recording, measured on Windows. macOS/Linux HDR input currently converts to SDR. NDI and Web Monitor stay SDR; DeckLink HDR output awaits physical-card validation. Full requirements: https://utopian-academy.github.io/Deckboy/specs.html#hdr

BEFORE YOU DESCRIBE A DEMO
Identify the version actually filmed. The release link always points to the latest published version; existing screenshots and videos may show earlier releases.
NDI needs the NDI runtime. Blackmagic SDI needs compatible hardware and its driver. Spout is Windows only. Consult the manual for feature and platform requirements.
Imported slides are rendered at import; do not describe them as preserving PowerPoint animations and transitions.
The builds are unsigned; first-run instructions are on the release page.
Video music and third-party footage carry their own credits and terms. See the individual video's credits before reuse.
